Been using Swype for over a month now and I have to say its the Best App built for this phone so far. If you have not tried swype you are really missing out on a Must have.

Agreed. Even if you dont like it at first, give it a day or two, it is amazing.

I like that commercial in which they break the texting world record using Swype. Not sure if that is real or not but the dude doing the swyping is amazingly fast.

I have to agree. The Swype "Lite" that was posted here is quick. I've got it down with the thumb where I can text with one hand. It is even faster when I hold the phone with the left hand and "swype" with the right. It takes a couple days to get used to, but then it is great!

Used it for a week and I have mixed feelings about it. If I could add to the dictionary, etc. I would be all over it...

Swype is a different kind of keyboard in which you use your finger to draw lines between words instead of the traditional keyboard in which you push one key at a time. It is very fast once you get used to it. Check out the thread below for info on where to get it and to learn much more about it.

You can! Just type (tap) the word and hit space bar. It's added to your dictionary.

Do you have to be rooted to use swype?

Weird, It seemed like I had to correct words all the time. Maybe I'll give it another shot and see how it is.

ok. I got it working. It seems pretty neat yet it also seems like it will take some getting used to. How do you do to of the same letter?

The program has to learn your commonly used words and you'll find that you have to go through the alternate word list less and less. One thing to remember is that you don't have to choose the word from the pop-up if it is the one you meant to type. You just continue to type the next word and it automatically inserts that word. I used Swype for a short time and quickly gave it up. Tried again when beta came out and was hooked from then on out.

The tutorial is helpful: do a curly-q on the letter.

You can use Just your thumb to do any words. I dont think there has been an app that is this helpful to me on a daily basis, I want stock options:D

Instead of just hitting the letter, stay on it and loop your finger around in a circle on the letter, then on to the next one.

Sort of like a Curly-Q shape:

Definitely take the time to hit the Swype key and go through the keyboard tutorial. When typing a double letter, move your finger in a circle within the letter to get double letters.

Swype is by far the most useful and enjoyable app on my phone. I can't say enough about it! I've been showing it off since I installed it. I'll never go back to tapping!

I'm always back and forth with the stock keyboard and Swype. They are both just great keyboards.
