I've been running SkyRaider and it's been the bee's knee for me. Stable like stock and snappy as can be.

But I'm curious about AOSP and would like to try the best AOSP version out there that can be a daily driver without headaches. And I've been trying to read up on all of them, but seriously, that's like days and hours of reading that I can't afford.

So can anyone give me a recommendation on a non-buggy, pain-less, daily driver AOSP ROM?

SkyRadier?? I'm going to assume you mean Zeus and say in all honesty, I would love to hard sell you on AOSP, but if you're coming from basically a stock sense ROM I can't. There are little quirks with AOSP ROMs (GPS work arounds, inconsistent signal, etc) that someone who isn't familiar with AOSP may not like. It is completely different than sense. IMO, I would say that all of them are daily driver caliber, but I also love AOSP and am used to the quirks it brings and the look and feel of it.

Make a backup and give one a try. If you don't like the way it looks/feels you can always restore your backup. I would recommend CM7 as the first to try. It's the OG of AOSP ROMs and it's what most other AOSP ROMs are built off of.

Well.....you ask an interesting question. Currently there are 2 types of AOSP roms out there, CM based and OMGB based. I personally like CM roms better, current choices are: CM7, Liquid ThunderBread, A05PTH30RY, BURNTH30RY, and HACK3DTH30RY. I can confirm LTB, AOSP theory, and Burn theory would make fine daily drivers. Worm swears by CM7 and seeing as my fav roms are CM7 based I would say it would be a contender. You also have OMGB, OMFGB, and Mini BAMF. These are all based on OMGB which is a vanilla android port from source. I have had issue personally with OMFGB running on my phone but that could just be my phone. I would suggest you start with one of the theory roms see what you like and what you don't, then once you feel like it try a different one. Remember if you flash a rom you don't like you can always restore your backups to get you back to one you do (unless you rename them ;))

It seems like most of these quirks are more, or less, quirks that need to be worked on as the ROMs matures. I'm enticed by the idea of running stock android, but I hate having buggy phones. Is data drop a normalcy with AOSP ROMs?

Thank for the suggestions. I'm curious about CM7 and all of the Theory version. But don't know which I should really decide between. The Theory ROMs all promise quick, lag free operation, but since all are based up on the CM7 source code, they should all present the same bugs and debug options, right?

The "bugs" Worm brought up are things like GPS not working (fixed if you have a lock on GPS with a sense rom prior to flash), some VZW apps not working, odd things being reported on the notification bar for signal (doesn't actually affect phone performance) nothing that you (or I at least) can't live with. I would suggest either AOSP theory or Burn Theory, both are good roms. I am rocking burn theory right now and have no real issues with it.

Same here i installed burn theory last nite and i am enjoying it very much. Its smooth and very snappy and my gps locked right on today when i needed it, i didnt even need to do a work aorund for it. Its uses cm7 base but leaned out and very fast i'll def be sticking wit it for a while. but like Big worm and yeahha say theres different ones to try. make your backup and flash away, bur dnt forget to dwnload gapps also for sum u need them. make sure o read the OP'z of each one you try.
