Why do you think someone is tracking you via IMEI? The IMEI is an identifier tied to each individual phone, not any particular person. If someone is accessing your WhatsApp account, you should change your password.

Thanks svim, because someone called me and told me what I'm doing on whatsapp (my contacts/ my conversations), after googling similar cases I found that it may be tracked using the IMEI or my MAC address.
regarding your solution if it really works please tell me how to change its password as it never asked me for a password.

IMEI is relative to smartphones, they are identifiers for cellular carriers. MAC addresses are tied specifically to the Ethernet network chips in computers/laptops. Both are lower level hardware identifiers so it seems unlikely either one has something to do with your Whatsapp issue.

Resetting a WhatsApp password appears to involve accessing their site. Info here:

That might be easier said than done. While there are plenty of texting apps, WhatsApp is similar to Apple's iMessage in that it's a closed, proprietary system. Like iMessage, WhatsApp can exchange SMS and MMS with others, but for WhatsApp messages those exchanges only occur inside the WhatsApp ecosystem.
WhatsApp is just one of many texting apps in the U.S. market but elsewhere it's a really big deal.

WhatsApp can be tied to your phone number, and doesn't necessarily use a password.

When I tried it a while back, I activated it via a SMS and that was it. But it meant it could only be accessed from that number.

When you download whatsapp you put in your mobile number, it will then send a text to verify that this number is correct (if I remember right it automatically realises that the phone had the message with the code and registered straight off, if I'm wrong then a code is text and put it in the WhatsApp app and finish registration).
WhatsApp also syncs up to your Google Drive account for the backup restore every night (also if you do it manually). I have just had a look on my Drive account and can't see any files there but it definately restored my messages from it when I flashed my last ROM.
Also, for the last month or two WhatsApp has finally embraced end to end encryption, what version of WhatsApp are you using? Do you know if your version has this capability?

I can't figure out how someone can see your messages unless you are originally registered with their number? One of my friends when he changed numbers was still using his old WhatsApp number somehow...not entirely sure how he managed this but he recently changed his phone (kept same said number) but then was using his new number WhatsApp, perhaps there is a loop there if you have changed your number. Open WhatsApp, hit the three dot menu top right, sewttings and click your name/picture. Is the number there your current number you are using?

what if someone loaded the app on a tablet.. and used her phone number...
it then sent a confirmation text to the phone...
he had possession of the phone at that time (5 mins)... and confirmed the text.. then deleted that text...

boom ...the tablet would be fully functional WhatsApp for that phone number.

Except you can use your WhatsApp account only in one device. If register your phone number in another device your account will be deleted from the original device so you would know that someone has stolen your Whatsapp.

OK, that's helpful info, it does clarify things. I take back whatever I stated earlier about EIMI being a part of the problem.
