I just installed the Ava-FroYoV3 Rom and it looks like the 4G radio driver has been heavily optimized.

I've historically had spotty 4G coverage from my house. I used to get 2 mbit from my house, now I'm getting 4.5mbit.

    Anyone seeing the same thing?

Nope. If anything, it's a bit worse (but I'm not blaming the update for this). I can see the tower on a hill a few hundred yards from my home. I get excellent reception and never have seen anything over abotu 4.1 Mb/s down and 1.2 Mb/s up. Frankly, not worth it as my 3G speeds are about 70% of that. So why is 4G so good?

A guy at XDA is seeing a performance boost as well.

I am currently getting better 4g reception as well. I'm getting it in places around my neighborhood where I normally don't get it.

If I were smart, I would have done a Speedtest.net pass before upgrading and one after.

Maybe somebody else can try this.

I know my 3g is faster. Never got over 600-700 down before (I'm in the sticks of Atlanta), now regularly over 800.

I doubt you'll see an increase over 1meg up on 4g as it is capped at 1meg up.

Those downloads are GREAT!! Thanks for the info!

Guess the consensus is that the new 4G radio driver is markedly better than the old one.

I stopped doing the comparison last night after downgrading back to 1.47. The newer 4G radio driver was still installed, so it also performed better also.

Can somebody running a 1.47-based ROM give it a try? I was on DC 3.2.3 last night.

4g is definitely better with reception and speed on 2.2. No comparison.
