Help in call volume me to caller

Hi can anyone offer any advice when I make call or recieve I can only just be heard very very faintly by person at other end, this started about three days ago ??
While you're in a phone call have you tried hitting the volume up button? I can't remember if this effects both yours and their call volume or if it's only yours. Otherwise I'd say there might be dust or debris covering your mic, or if could be a firmware issue, in which case you'd probably need to put a fixed DialerTabActivity.apk back into your /system/app/ folder.
