Hi, guys, I have rooted my Ace earlier today and installed 2.3.6 firmware, but I am looking for some custom roms, since the phone is already rooted...

I have looking here, on xda, some other sites and the roms that are in highest regard are CM7.2, gingercruzt, SGS2, icecreamsunday etc.

I already decided that I won't install gingercruzt as I already had 2 SE phones, so I'm kind of sick of them :D And most of the roms are based on CM7/7.1/7.2 so no much point in installing it 'clean'.

What are your suggestions in terms of speed/battery/customisation/stability balance? Or any other feature you find important, I'm still new to terminology and smartphones as a whole.

    Cheers! :)

@XgamerX How to upgrade Samsung Galaxy Ace via ODIN Ace Tips

@SkaldfraNorden The choice of rom depends on what feature you want.
Usually the battery backup of CM based roms is less than the stock based ones, but if tune your device nicely, you can enjoy CM based roms for a whole day with medium use.
CM roms are rich in features and look really cool. Most of them right now are quite stable but have some minor bugs as they have been built on unofficial CM versions. Whereas stock roms are stable with no bugs, but they lack some features. They need to be modded further for additional features.

As far as speed is concerned, there are several ram management scripts that you can use on any custom rom, also you can overclock your device. But you will have to sacrifice battery for speed.

I am personally using Ice Cream Sunday 2 by Jusada for last 2 months, its really fast and stable. It has a few bugs but nothing that bothers my daily work.

So its all up to what feature you want most...
    Happy Flashing :)
