OK here's the scenario. I just transferred a new song from my laptop to my HTC Evo 4g. At first I was unable to find the song on my phone. Then I downloaded Astrofile Manager and was able to locate it. However, the only way this song will play on my phone is if I use Astrofile manager to play it. Using Astrofile, I tried moving the song to the folder on my phone where my other songs are located, but it didn't make a difference. When I open my stock music app the new song still does not appear. I then went to the Google Play Store and started downloading multiple music players, but I got the same result. Each music player app was able to locate my music folder, but still would not display the new song.

It should be noted that this is the first song that I have transferred from my laptop to my Evo. It's Linkin Park's new single "Burn It Down", and I have the feeling the mp3 is strictly meant for iTunes. All my other songs were purchased from Amazon mp3 or the Google Play store and then directly downloaded on my Evo.

I need to find a remedy for this problem so I can regularly transfer music from my laptop to my Evo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.

are there digital rights connected with the song? not sure why astro would play it and not others though. could be a rights issue.

Try Doubletwist and see if it will sync the song with your phone. If not, it's probably a rights issue like Argedion said.
