Hi guys. I'm trying to find a weather app that will give me the temp icon in the notification bar, but allows me to NOT have the lockscreen or banner when I pull down the notification bar. I love weather underground, but if I set it to show the temp notification, it automatically shows on the lockscreen and in the drop down banner. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated -- thanks!

Im old, so I need visuals... :p I attached photos of the AOD, lock screen, and main screen with notification tray drop down.

the app I use is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid27.transparentclockweather.premium&hl=en

Transparent clock and weather. the PRO version has MANY features and customizations. there is a free version you can test. in the setup I have, i dont have the temp in the notification bar up top because its right there on the main screen.

thx to @WeeWilly for the recommendation...

^ for Transparent, how to you set the refresh update frequency, as it seems to be still showing the temperature from the morning time?

i know we have an APP section, however i was curious what is everyone using for the note 8 for a weather widget/app. im one of those people that like to see the current temps and so fourth on my home screen but i've also seen and heard that some of the current apps are just filled with adware and or just don't work properly.

so here i am dying for a good weather widget. can my note 8 brothers and sisters recommend something ?

I use Beautiful Widgets in combination with Weather Bug to great effect.

I use 'Another Widget'. Mimics the weather/calendar widget the new pixel 2 phones have. Simple and nice looking.

Always looking for the best app that both refreshes on the AOD screen notification icon, and as widget on home screen. Currently on AOD screen, I have Transparent for the temperature notification and Accuweather for cloud/sun/rain icon (needs to be more intense icon lighting to see better). And Transparent as widget. They do refresh though I wish more frequently.

So i went with accuweather for a few hours. Seemed alright and i even had it on my note 4. However i decided remove this morning. It seemed ok, but i felt i wanted something a tad more fancy for my Note 8.

I went ahead and tried weather and clock widget for android. It has the usual time and date. Weather temps, humidity and i also like the 5 day forcast as well. I think i'll be keeping this one !!!
