I have a Droid Inccredible and use 3G mobile hotspot to use with my laptop. Is it possible to do this with the NC and be able to use google maps navigation incar?

I know the NC does not have internal GPS, but cant this be possible with the 3G mobile hotspot enabled?

Though I don't plan to use my nook as an in car nav, I don't think its possible with 3g anyways. I know u can use bluetooth to share ur phones gps but I'm not sure if the devs got bluetooth working on the nook. I heard it was in the works but I never saw confirmation that they got BT working.

Without BT or GPS, I don't think we'll be able to use the nook as a nav.:(

bt has been activated but its mostly proof of concept. its not functional in any real way. that is months away if ever, most likely.

I have an HTC Hero. I'll fire it up and see if it will work.

EDIT: I am currently running "nookie-froyo-0.6.7-SDCARD.custom.2.img" on my nook, and I have Fresh 2.1.2 with wireless tether. I could tether to the phone, but the nook couldn't obtain location information from the phone. I started the maps app on the phone and the maps app on the nook, but no location info was sent. My ipod Touch CAN obtain location information from my phone when I run the maps app on it, however, I don't think it gets it from the GPS, I think it triangulates with the cellular info. That is purely speculation on my part. Bluetooth wouldn't even engage, so I couldn't try that avenue.

So, no new information, but at least I tried.

when it uses cellular towers to give a location its a 'coarse location' whereas a gps ping will give a 'fine location'. nook doesnt understand this. understandably...its not designed for that.
