Incredible 2 will not display txt Pictures

Hi, My daughter has an incredible 2 when she receives txt pictures it asks her to download or decline? If she chooses download it eventually fails. She can receive pictures just fine to her gmail account on the phone. Today I have downloaded the latest and greatest firmware and installed it. Any ideas?

I have read about this problem on different forums about different phones. I think the consensus is to use a texting app like Handcent or GOSMS from the Market, both are free, worth a try.

And as an after thought, just in case if the phone is rooted, do not delete or freeze the stock text message app. If you do, it will disable MMS which is when you get pictures.
