Incredibly Simple Bixby Command too much to ask

I'm astounded by how dumb bixby is. I want to create a bixby quick command that I can add to my home screen that, wait for it, the mother of all computing complexities, opens a browser to a url. Yes, literally the most common of all computing actions seems impossible. No matter what I do, dumb-ass bixby just ends up asking, "what do you want to search for?" or something similar.

If my command is "open samsung.com" it works fine, but it seems if the command contains a url with even one forward slash in it, it's too stupid.

BTW, using either chrome or samsung web doesn't allow this. Any time you try to add a given url to your home page, they refuse to add the current url, instead they add the base url of whatever site you're currently viewing instead. That's totally not what I need. And I don't want to have to speak to dumb-ass bixby who never works anyway. I just want a simple url pinned to home.

In 2021, is there no way to accomplish this?

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

I would just use a simple, fast, secure browser that allows you to enter your own webpage as a homepage- and is also a wrapper of the Android System Webview app- which is built in to every Android device.

If you update ASW, then basically you have updated your browser.

Lightning is the original, the others are the same with some nice additions you may enjoy.
    (Global dark theme, for instance.)

Personally, I use Midori as an app for this site, and I set Lightning up for a site I use at work all the time.

I use another version, IDM+, as my general browser and downloader.

All have unlimited bookmarks and tabs, which are always accessible at any time.

I have used browsers like these for a long time- any questions about them, let me know.

    Oh, I forgot something!

After you have changed the homepage to whatever you like, then restarted the app-

Be sure to add the app icon to your homescreen!

When you tap on the icon, the browser will open- but it will open onto the site you have chosen as the homepage.

Thanks for the suggestion, but a) I shouldn't have to do all that to be able to open a url, and b) I'm really looking for a bixby command because there's no way it's that stupid.

Actually, Bixby really IS that stupid.

And it is no trouble at all to change the homepage in the apps I mentioned.

In fact, install the app and open it, then go to settings.
    (General Settings)
It is an option that is built into the app already.

It really doesn't get any easier than that.

I've never used Bixby, but quite frankly that sounds like something that Samsung would need to fix at their end, and nothing much else you can do, apart from trying Google Assistant instead?

I don't want to install additional apps. I ended up just making the urls bookmarks in chrome and then adding the chrome widget to the desktop that gives you quick access to those bookmarks.

    Use Chrome if you want-
I found it to be slow, insecure, intrusive, and basically a pest.

Anyway, glad you figured out a way to work it out.
