Indication on email re reply/forward action taken

I have sync'd my email with two accounts - Google email and an exchange server email. I don't have any problem receiving or sending email. The problem is when I reply to an email or forward an email, there is no indication on the email in my inbox that I have sent it or forwarded it - like the little arrow in MS Outlook to the left side of the email. I have not found anything in preferences or settings to create this effect. Any help would be appreciated!
