I am wondering if the camera - either one - on the Droid 3 has infrared capability? I can not find any documentation about it, so I am suspecting it does not.

If you know different and can point me to a thread somewhere, I'd be very grateful.

    TIA

As for IR, I can't speak, but I know that they do pick up UV light. A quick way to do this, cheaply, I to expose a roll of 35mm film and have it developed. Just tell them to keep the whole roll intact and it will be a darkly tinted, but clear material. A few layers of this will turn your phone camera into a UV only camera. I've had some fun with this taking cool UV photos, as the negative filters out visible, but not UV, light.

I have a friend who dabbles in uv filters and such on cameras. There's even a guy on youtube who shows how you can see through thin layers of clothing using film and a camera.

It can be used with mail and other thin, permeable materials as well.
