I have tried many players and V-Player seems to work the smoothest, all the others including the stock player cant seem to handle video files very good, I have tried various AVI files some MKV files and they all seem to not run that great, On the captivate it ran everything I threw at it, I wonder why? Has to be the hummingbird processor my bet.

Hopefully the arc plays videos fine, I tried again and its slow and the audio doesn't even sync correctly, very disappointed here.

I have used the stock player, you tube and all video replay was great. Maybe something in your video format?

Could always be some other app he installed from the market...the help faq on HTCs website lists that as a possible culprit for just about EVERY lag type issue.

The .mp4 files I use work fine but videos I downloaded from iTunes that are .m4v don't work.

This is true. Sense is so encompassed into the UI that if you add a lot of other functionality apps that mimic or use the same things it will lag the phone

No wonder, MP4's should usually always work fine, if anyone can download an AVI or MKV movie and try it out and see the results, I'd appreciate it.

I just ripped Revenge of the Sith DVD with Handbrake down to 1.6gig MKV and it plays fine. I used the universal setting no changes at all to the setup..

I'll look for some avi's to try...

i'm having some probs with certain AVI's (specifically the standard def Top Gear downloads)... have a 3rd party player and with the settings set to low it plays ok, not the smooth video I like but it stays synced... we'll see what is up

So far mine plays every format I've given it with great success. This is an amazing model, faster & more responsive than my EVO in side by side tests.
