I have an LG VS980 from Verizon running Android 5.0.2. My work implemented a content filtering device that requires me to install a certificate. When I try to download the certificate using Chrome I get the download was unsuccessful. It will not download the SSL. I've tried clearing data, caches, etc. I've reset Chrome with all having the same result.

I finally downloaded the Firefox app from the play store on the phone and had no issue installing the certificate.

Why will the certificate not install using Chrome? I'm sure the SSL is for Firefox and not chrome as they generally use different SSL's if I'm not mistaken.

    Any advice?

First let me apologize for the typos above. To correct the issue I ended up going to App Manager and to Chrome then choosing uninstall. Not sure why they call it uninstall - all it did was removed all Chromes updates. Once updates were removed I launched Chrome, installed the certificate with out issue, and went back to play store and updated Chrome.

Hope this helps anyone having the same issues.
