Hi, I have an HTC One M8 GPE with stock marshmallow, I don't want to format my sd card as internal storage, is there any way I can install apps on the sd card when the sd card is formatted as portable storage. Thanks for any help.

Probably not the answer you were seeking but if it is any help....you can use the "app manager" in settings to change storage location of an app to your sd card. Yes it's an extra step but you can keep it as portable....fyi I tried it on my phone (Verizon M8/Android 6.0) before posting, the first app I tried gave a "memory error" after that all moved no problem....have sandisk sd as portable as well....

HTC One M8

The HTC One M8 is the Taiwanese company's flagship phone for the first half of 2014. It built on its predecessor with an upgraded 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and an UltraPixel rear Duo Camera.
