    Hey guys, this is my first post, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but i cant find anything anywhere.

    When i have downloaded instant root it is in a zip format. this means i cant install it on my phone, i have also put in on the root of the SD card and astro manager wont see it.

    Anything i could do to get it work so i can root and install custom roms.

    Thanks =)

    First of all your thread should have been posted here

    Next... follow this guide

    instant root should not be a zip file.. it is automatically download as a .apk file.. I just tried it ...
    and if for some strange reason it is a zip file.. open it and extract the .apk file from it and put it on root of SD... but follow the link I gave you..

    I am following that guide, but for some reason it has gone as a zip file, and no apk file is in it.

    try renaming the original download to InstantRoot.apk and remove any .zip extension.
