I've unlocked my phone but I can't get it to root correctly. Everytime it goes to load Clockwordmod it gives me an android guy with an open chest and an exclamation mark.

I am using the WugFresh tool so I don't know what could have possibly gone wrong. Anyone else have this problem and what did they do to fix it?

    SpinnaSpence,

Can you check your /system folder for a file named "recovery-from-boot.p"?

If you have that particular file, then Android will automatically re-flash the stock recovery. Check out this post for how to fix this:

How to install ClockworkMod custom recovery

    Cheers!

I tried using Root manager to flash the recovery and it said it was successful but I keep getting the same error thing.

This is what it looks like

    LOL, no problem :).

Use a file manager like Astro File Manager to see if the /system/recovery-from-boot.p file exists on your phone.

If it does, even though you've used ROM Manager to flash ClockworkMod, Android will automatically re-flash the stock recovery that you are seeing each time you shut down.

    Let us know.

What you told me didn't end up working so I pretty much had to return everything to stock and then re do it. There may have been a bug in the WugFresh v1 program because that's what I used and kept running into that problem.

So I downloaded his 1.1 version after he updated and it worked fine from there.

I'm getting the same dead Droid and problem. How did you go back to stock... using the WugFresh tool? Did you relock the phone as well?

    I guess I'll have to download V 1.1 since I have 1.0 right now.
