XXUFNBE would be from the Philippines and Malaysian, KitKat firmware releases. Usually these modems do not fare very well on European networks. I await your reports. :)

35 typical ASU for me at work up to NAD
NAD gave me typically up to 36-37
Just saw this one on 40 ASU which I've never seen at work before, but seems to be levelling out around 36-37

I'll have to wait and see how it performs in the real-world (not that anyone ever speaks to me)

Sorry old bean... I should have said... "I await your reports from the civilised world". ;)

OK, I'll give it a go. I can test it properly now that the Twilight Zone pub has re-opened after the floods.

How could I forget! The last time I was in Wales I accidently started to choke on a boiled sweet and ended up naming a whole Welsh village. :D

Easy for you to say Syd!

It's not like the old Galaxy S2 days where all you needed was your phone and a selection of modem .zip files on your SDcard that you could flash via recovery. Now, with the i9505, you need a laptop and a USB cable to flash the modems via Odin, (tried Mobile Odin and it doesn't seem to work), then you need to log on to a web page and then go to Network Signal and monitor and screenshot the readings before starting the whole process again with the next modem. All the while, the landlord expects you to buy drinks in return for using his facilities! Add to this the fact that this is a solo pursuit as any female will tell you where to stick your phone if you happen to be on a date.

It's a lengthy old process these days mate. Sometimes I don't finish until 3 or 4 in the morning. ;)

I've never understood why this is the case.
All Odin does is flash to various partitions.

LTE is p1 and GSM is p2, so to back up:
    dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/NON-HLOS.bin
    dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/modem.bin

to restore, or place a copy of updated modem.bin etc into /sdcard
    dd if=/sdcard/NON-HLOS.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
    dd if=/sdcard/modem.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2

Obviously these commands can easily be put into a CWM.zip file.
But I've never had the nads to try the restore......SYD!.....!!!!!

It's probably linked to why Odin doesn't even work if booted via the power menu

I wish I could flash the i9505 modems vis recovery. You can on the i9500. Would have been very useful on Friday night at the Twilight Zone.

After thorough and lengthy testing of NAD, NB9 and NBE, I can honestly say that, for me, on Vodafone, in that location, there was no difference to speak of. Sitting here, looking at the copious screenshots that I took, you would not be able to tell the difference overall.

Of course, all this information will currently be wasted on Hawker as he will be watching the English, no doubt, soundly thrashing the bottoms of the Welsh rugby team at Twickenham. ;)

    NBH modem is now out.
I'm going to be keeping a close eye on this one, as its an EE (UK) modem.

In light of Dejembey not updating his OP for a while, Repulsa on XDA seems to be keeping a post of his up to date with all the latest GSM+LTE modems

    See Repulsa's post

    Cheers old thing!

I remember from our Galaxy S2 days that the EE, (Orange), modem was very good for a lot of UK and some European, users.

Very early tests, at my desk, show that it is no worse than NAD, NA9 and NBE for me in this location and on my network. Will give it the weekend and report back as I will, as usual, rigorously test it.

The good news is that since the Chancellor of the Exchequer for the UK has reduced the duty on a pint of beer by a whole 1p in his recent budget... I get a free,
