I am going to London soon for a little less than a week. What happens if I turn on my Verizon Nexus?? Will I get big charges from Verizon for international usage, or will nothing happen? Can I use the Wifi portion of the phone to Skype back to the US? If so, are there open Wifi spots in London?

If this won't work I guess I will buy a burn phone when I get there for minimal usage.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Turn off your mobile data and mobile data roaming. Turn your phone on silent and don't answer any phone calls. How can they charge you after all that?
