    Hello everyone.

I've tried rooting my S3, so I can freeze lots of the apps I don't want to use on it.

I followed this video step by step:
How to Root Galaxy S3 on Mac OSX! - YouTube

However, when I enter clock recovery mode I'm presented with the Android dude lying down with a red triangle above him.

My S3 is still working thankfully. But I still want to root it. Does anybody know what's happened?

Should I factory reset the phone just to be safe?

    Thanks

its a much simpler process on a windows pc with odin. It hardly takes 30 seconds to root. Do u by chance have a windows pc u could use for it? I dont know much of mac so not sure why u received an error and personally have never seen the screen with a red x on it. Also which version of android are u running?

Sorry I'm not any help with a Mac, I've only ever rooted with a pc. I'll move you over to all things root where hopefully someone will be able to help:)

I could do it on my friends PC. Should I factory reset it first before I try just to make sure nothing goes wrong?

    What's Odin?

    I'm running 4.1.2

    Thanks for your help. :)
