Root [International] Wi-Fi hotspot not working after flashing custom ROM

Hi, I just flashed the SuperNexus 4.1.2 on my Galaxy S3. I did a factory reset (mandatory) wiped the cache partition and the dalvik cache as instructed. The ROM is working perfectly until the hotspot. I set up my APN and my internet works fine. When I turned on the hotspot, my friend cannot see the Hotspot although it is active. Any advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Can any other WiFi receiver in your house see the Hotspot you created?

moved you to the s3 international ATR forum, were folks who has your phone can help you out better.

just curious as i do not have your phone, but have you tried the wifi tether app that is offered in the play store?

I just did, and it did not work. But I may have done something wrong. Do you turn on the hotspot and the app or just the app?

In this settings screen of the stock tethering uploadfromtaptalk1366252448720.jpg
Tap the WORDS "Portable Wifi Hotspot" (not the green switch next to it) and make sure its set to "allow all devices" then see if you can connect to it

Wait, before when I had the stock Jelly Bean, I think my hotspot was set to Only Allowed Devices. Then in the SuperNexus ROM, I could not see the Only allowed/Allow all devices option. But before when my friend tried to connect to my hotspot and it was set to "Only allowed devices" he would still see my active hotspot but only that it was disabled. Got some ideas?

The app should take control of the system and launch the hot spot. Is your mobile data ok?

My mobile data is functioning fine. It is just the hotspot that does not show. Probably something in my APN settings because I only input the name and the Apn which mine is mpulse.gta.net and that's it.

If you can use mobile data, your APN is fine so its not that. Good luck mate. Let us know if you get anywhere

is this the rom you flashed?
[ROM][AOSP][JB][4.1.2][JZO54K] SuperNexus - I9300 - BUILD 5 [17-10-12

if so then it looks like they never got wifi tethering to work. before you flash a rom it is a good idea to read the op and if you have the time, then i would suggest that you read the thread in its entirety to see if there are any issues.

Known Issues
  • Wi-Fi tethering is semi-broken
  • exFAT Formatted SD Cards (Format your SD Card in FAT32 and it will work)
  • Found one ? Report it.

Thanks. I also read in a forum that this issue is a known issue. Some people like me get it and some people don't get it. Possibly I should install a custom kernel? Because I've never did one and that should fix the problem.

It seems it is the ROM's problem. I never switched to a custom kernel. The fifth build is the one I am using.

Could this be the problem?
