Help internet connection on o2

when using my moblie internet, sometimes i get a G symbol sometimes E this is on gsm mode and if i switch to gsm/wcdma auto on my network mode i will get the letter H, when its got g or e my internet is really really slow, why is this and what can i do

E is Edge (I think this is 2G), G is 3G and H is HSDPA (which is 3.5G)

The best thing to do is leave your phone on gsm/wcdma auto and, when possible, your phone will use the highest speed connection.

Fair enough... I leave mine, so I can get the best speeds possible (when I do use mobile data).

I tend not to use mobile data unless I'm out and about and only turn it on when I need it. I leave my WIFI on more or less the whole time - I am on my WIFI at home and Work (only live 20 mins away from work) and only turn off my WIFI when I'm going to be out of a WIFI area for a long time.

I guess I can get away with that, as I don't bother with stuff like Twitter...
