Hi, everyone! I'm looking for an app which I'm not sure actually exists. I'm not even sure what to call it. Please bear with me while I explain.

On occasional "being productive" days, I like to plan out every minute of the day, with 5-minute granularity. Currently, I use a text file on my laptop and edit it throughout the day, so at the beginning it might look like:

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. -0800   sleep
    3. -0815   ready for biking
    4. -0905   bike
    5. -0935   long shower
    6. -0945   settle in office, check todo, plan
    7. -2230
    8. -2235   take melatonin, start backup, check todo
    9. -2245   general cleaning, turn down lights
    10. -2255   ready for bed
    11. -2345   read
    12. -0000   go to bed, fall asleep
    13.
    14. * call plumber
    15. * meet with Jeff
    16. * go grocery shopping
    17.
By the time it's 9:45, it might look like:

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. -0800 / sleep
    3. -0815 / ready for biking
    4. -0905 / bike
    5. -0935 / long shower
    6. -0945 / settle in office, check todo, plan
    7. -1015   work
    8. -1020   call plumber
    9. -1050   work
    10. -1100   break
    11. -1105   check BBBB*, plan
    12. -1540
    13. -1600   settle out, drive to coffeeshop
    14. -1700   talk with Jeff
    15. -1710   drive back
    16. -1720   settle in, plan
    17. -2230
    18. -2235   take melatonin, start backup, check todo
    19. -2245   general cleaning, turn down lights
    20. -2255   ready for bed
    21. -2345   read
    22. -0000   go to bed, fall asleep
    23.
    24. * go grocery shopping
    25.
    ... and so on.

This works fine, and I could put it on Google Docs to make it available on my phone... BUT, if something runs over, like if I work 20 minutes more than I expect, I want the times afterward to push back automatically. In addition, I need certain things to be anchored, like the meeting with Jeff in this example. If my shifted tasks try to go over an anchored task, I want the overrunning tasks to squeeze out the side and fall back into my starred area (at the bottom), where I can reschedule or delete as needed.

Right now, I have to do this recomputing and reshuffling by hand, which is a bit annoying, especially on a phone. EDIT: Oh yes, and on a phone, it can ding when the new task comes up. My text file can't do that.

Any ideas? It seems like calendar apps are generally too inter-day focused (ungranular and inefficient for intra-day stuff), and todo apps are generally too time-unstructured. I need something optimized for the middle.

Thanks for any consideration. Also, I know this probably seems a little obsessive-compulsive, but on the occasional day that I need to do it, it works out great.

    * BBBB = "bowels, bladder, belly, brain" ;-)
