    Dear users,

I would like to ask if it's possible to convert an iPhone application (newspaper) to Android OS?

I'm already waiting sooooo long for an application that already exist on iPhone Appstore but not for Android...

Is there somebody who can help me???

    Please, I'd be very thankful

    Stay with love,
    M.

FWIK, converting between iphone and Android is really tough. The reason why is they are two totally seperate languages that handle files differently. This is just from what I know though, so someone please clarify.

If there was an easy way to convert iPhone to Android that would totally change the world of mobile apps!

Depends on the app, but 99.9% of the cases I would say RDKamakaze is correct.

If it's a newspaper, do they not have a mobile version of their website though?

They have a mobile version of their website but the problem is that we can not read and post comments in the comments section...

I love to read comments what other people say and think and that's why I'd like build an app (newspaper)

The iPhone app is perfect but it doesn't exist for Android :(

Can anyone convert it or build it for Android???

It's a Turkish sports newspaper (sports website)

You should email the newspaper and express your interest :) If someone else wrote the app they might be treading into a legal grey area.

There are a few apps out there that do multiple newspapers though. One popular one is called "Newspapers of the World" (I think). I've heard praise for it, but never used it myself.

One of the reasons it takes so long is that iOS developers are prevented from cross-compiling their apps and must rewrite them from scratch for Android. Apple says it's a quality issue. Hmmmmm, maybe.

If it was a simple task that any end user could do then there would be very little difference between the selections in iOS App Store and the Android App Market. They're very different devices and developing for each is very different. It's not a simple task to port from one platform to another. If it was then why would developers of paid apps limit themselves?

Not without access to source code. You need to convince the dev to develop it for Android.

Offer them each of these until they say yes:
    1. A high five
    2. Donate
    3. Mailed thank-you letter (it means so much more coming from the snail mail!)
    4. Cookies
    5. Milk to go with those cookies

If they still say no, then they probably don't want to do it lol! I mean it's Java, how hard could it be?

And you're Android needs that seeing eye droid. Doesn't he know there's an app for that? If only Apple would loosen their reigns...
