I've heard about this. What exactly is it and do I have it on my GS3? I downloaded a remote control app and wanted to use it. Is this even possible?

    Thanks!

I didn't think the Galaxy S 3 had an IR Blaster

its a hardware part that lets it send signals to tvs, blu ray players etc. Infrared blaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Not vary many phones have it and i'm pretty sure the galaxy s 3 doesn't have it built in. Just having the app itself doesn't do anything without the hardware.

The S3 does not have an IR emitter. You might be able to find one that plugs into the headphone jack and works with an app, but I don't know.
