1. Are you ready for the Galaxy S20? Here is everything we know so far!

Is FoxFi limited to one single wi-fi client ?

Here is a pelicularity I encountered today.

I installed FoxFi on my Moto Droid Global phone fine and dandy. I can see the SSID I gave to it from my Nexus-7 tablet and am able to connect to the internet using my cell phone as a gateway.

While my N-7 is connected via FoxFi, I thought I try something else and add a computer (Linux Mint) sitting on my work desk coonect to it as well, so that I can use airdroid and what-not. To my dismay, my Linux box was unable to connect. Thinking it might be a linux pelicularity, I went to my windows 7 desktop and tried connecting that machine to FoxFi, with the same results, i.e., no connection can be established. I double checked my WPA settings and passwords and everything checks out.

Is there a limit for a single connection on FoxFi ? If so, is it configurable to allow more than one device to connect to it ?

When I had a Bionic on Verizon I used FoxFi a few times with multiple clients, both of which were Android devices (without a mobile data plan). I didn't have to do anything special to allow both devices to connect.

Are the additional devices that you're having trouble with able to connect when no other devices are connected?

I never tried using the device running FoxFi as a client on the Wifi network though, and I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't work.

Well, it must have been something in Linux Mint. Since this is my crash-n-burn linux box, I installed Ubuntu and it can talk to my FoxFi hot spot, along with my N-7 tablet, no problem. I am assuming a network stack problem with Linux Mint. Never liked the distro anyway. Now, back to my old faithful ubuntu. Just thought I should update this thread for some other unfortunate soul like me.
