I thought the proprietary power connection was a negative but after charging this a few times it seems I can fully charge this within a couple of hours even from as low as 10%. I swear it charged fully from 45% in less than an hour yesterday. Havent actually tested it (going to after i drain it a bit more) officially, just an observation, but its just seems damn fast. Or is it me.

It does charge pretty fast with the charger, but that's because it's throwing more amps at it than your normal USB charger. It is also why these things run kinda hot.

The Thrive has fast charging , so charges from zero to full in one hour. Catch is a bigger power supply & cable. I prefer a smaller PS and cable, since takes up less space for travel. Then again, no short flimsy cable with Thrive, so at least one positive.

Less time charging means more time being a tablet to me. As in not staying in one place.

No its fast. That is why you need the USB3.0 compatible cable to extend it, its using the extra communication cables to identify it as the Transformer.

If the supply doesnt get that signal then it outputs at the normal USB 5v. This keeps it from blowing up your phone. But once it gets that signal then it jumps to 15v.

You can actually charge the TF over the standard 5v but most say it takes like 30 hours.

Plus litium ion batteries work oddly. even when they're "empty" they're at 20%. Problem is when you go lower than that, they never recharge again. So all the devices which use litium batteries never allow a "full" discharge.
(Don't keep trying to turn it back on after it says the battery is empty!!!!)

It takes something like 30% of the charging time to do 70% capacity. Then 70% of the charging time to get that 30% more juice. (?!)
