I look at Samsung S-AMOLED screens and no phone goes above 4". Or is it their design mantra not going after HTC's 4.3" phone.

They don't need to go bigger, quality over size seems to be what they've gone for, but it's not like 4" is small.

I am sure it's trade secret if they cannot go above 4" with Super AMOLED. However, they are planning to ship 42" AMOLED TVs within a year so I don't think the 4" limit is there for Super AMOLED. And to go from 4 to 4.3" is very minimal to begin with.

I think it is a design thing. I personally think that 4" is the perfect size. I think that the Evo and Droid X are too large, and the Droid 2 and Droid Incredible are too small, but the Fascinate is just right.

Well going from 4" to 4.3" is not much of a leap, so to say EVO or X is to big is just a preference.

The bezel on the Epic makes it pretty similar to the Evo size-wise, so that's a hole in that argument.

It may be a personal preference but I have decided not to buy a Fascinate because I want the 4.3" screen. I do think there is a notable difference and wish Samsung had the larger screen (cause the Super Amoled screen is beautiful). I guess I'll just have to wait for the Incredible HD :D

4.3" is great, but 4" is good. Either way, it's a lot better real estate than off a flip phone or a blackberry for sure. Postage stamp < Miniature plate

The price of making quality screens tends to be the size^2. An example would be making a 5 inch versus a 10 inch - it would be at least 4 times more expensive due to yields (if not more for other reasons)

Give it time. By this time next year we'll likely have 1280x720 screen at 4-4.5"
