Does anyone know if it

There was a thread recently about this.

http://androidforums.com/atrix-4g-s.../404088-way-get-camera-without-unlocking.html

The real reason I am responding is because I am surprised to hear that anyone uses the PIN to unlock their Atrix instead of the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader is much faster. I can almost have the phone unlocked before it is out of my pocket. I have icons for both the camera and camcorder right on the home screen. I've got my camera rolling in no time.

If you read his post, it's a requirement for his work account to be able to add his corporate Exchange account.

It's standard for companies to require locking codes on the mobile devices. Now, the fingerprint is more secure, and easier, but it's more of a TECHNICALITY. They specify PIN and not "Security Measure" as a throwback to the days when that's all you could do. No unlock patterns, no fingerprints... just pin's. Really, his company just needs to update their security measures for this decade.

There are a few cases where PIN is required because THEY specify the PIN. Usually, this is on phones the company owns and provides, and they want their IT staff to be able to access the phone in the event someone is let go from their job.

All we require before we set someone up to access their work accounts is that they have SOME kind of security measure (PIN, Pattern or Fingerprint if their phone supports it),

Thanks guys! In my case, a pin or the fingerprint works for my corporate access. Unfortunately, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work reliably. When it does work, it's terrific, but most of the time, there's a long delay before it responds (so that it's actually faster to type the pin) or in some cases, it doesn't work at all (it doesn't respond at all). Then I have to restart the phone to get the sensor working again. Sometimes, even a restart won't work.

Therefore, if I'm in a hurry, I just go straight for the pin.

Oh, and John - I saw that thread, but it's no good for me because they said you have to bypass the security but I can't do that because of my manditory security policy.

The weird thing is that on my tablet with the same policy applied, I CAN use widget locker to access the Vignette camera app without unlocking the tablet. I wonder why the behaviour is different on the Atrix?

Anyway, I do appreciate the replies!!
