Root Is it possible to change LG Boot screen?

Is it possible to change the LG Logo boot screen? Or is it safe to change it when we get recovery? Thanks for all input!

I recommend attempting to change it after we get a recovery going. However, it is possible, and the file for the boot logo/screen pre-animation is a .rle file. Google around, and you'll find an XDA-Dev tutorial on how to make one (there are multiple threads, and I'm not sure how to link them).

EDIT: It's located in /bootimages, I believe.

Yes, as long as your rooted it works fine and gets rid of that annoying Virgin Mobile startup screen. You'll have to rename the poweron.mp3 file to something like poweron.bak, etc. if you want to disable the sound or you can replace it with something you want.
