    Hello All.
    I am new to tasker and have been trying to learn as much as I can.
    I have a questions though.
    Is it possible to have tasker set up a profile that will
    announce a new sms and asked if you want it read or not, and if yes then it reads the name and body and then closes the message screen and if the answer is no, then it just closes the message screen.

    Thanks in advance. I really hope it can be done, because I don't want it to read every message when certain people are in the car with me. lol

    Thanks
    Gerald

    Yep, it's definitely possible, though I'm not able to find any tutorials to do exactly what you're after. I'd look at this one as a base (for the "read SMS" portion).

    For voice interaction, the Action portion should be something like this:

    * SMS received *
    - Misc > Say > Text: "Message received from %SMSRF. Should I read it to you?"
    - Input > Get Voice.
    - Misc > Say > Text: "%SMSRF says %SMSRB." IF %VOICE Matches (~) "yes"

    Variables:
    %SMSRF - SMS Sender
    %SMSRB - SMS message content
    %VOICE - response to the Get Voice action.
