I took a picture with my droid eris and I would like to attach it in my gmail app on the phone and send it as if I had done this on my computer. is it possible?

open gmail app> menu button> compose> menu button> attach

Yes.
1. Take your picture as soon as you click it you will get a pop up.
2. Click on the \/ arrows.
3. Share menu pops up with an option to share via facebook, flickr, Gmail, mail, messages, peep..
4. Click on your desired option. (Gmail)
5. You will be taken to the mail option where your picture is now an attachment.
6. Send away!
