    yes/ no.

ok i know most of you rooted your phones but i wanna keep things as simple as possible. my phone is under singtel and i wanna remove all the eIdeas shit that camp with the phone.

the last time i had that on my SE (singtel startup screen and all that crap), i went to the service centre and asked for a default ROM install with no carrier bloatware and it was done in 1 day. just backup contacts to sim and that's all.

i wonder if we can do that with HTC?

(yes i am lazy la flame away hahahaha)

Never done it myself but if you install the Android SDK on your pc and then use ADB commands you can access you phone and install / uninstall whatever you want.

You need root and custom recovery for that

I am also interested in this, Orange filled my phone with crap and wanna remove it.

I heard someone once talk about a temporary root that ends when you restart phone, is that possible to do and then delete the bloatware ?

Also what on earth is a gold card, flash, RUU0358398 (example) and custom recovery

Go here, it will explain everything. You don't need to root to do what you want to do but rooting does improve yor phone no end.
