Hi, I tried searching around google for an answer but keywords android linux and root just gave me a bunch of irrelevant results. I got a tablet so I could take notes at school and do the online homework. One of my classes uses JRE. Much to my disappointment android doesn't have a version of JRE so the site is completely useless. So I was wondering if I rooted and installed Linux on my tablet. Would JRE work? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't but Ithought it would be better to ask before I went through the trouble.

I've rooted my phone so I'm familiar with the process and I've installed many linux distros. So being able to do it isn't a problem. I just want to make sure my time spent will be worth it. Any help would be great :) thanks!
