Is it safe to update to 2.3

Hi I want to update my Lephone to android 2.3 is it safe? Also can what packages have I to download to install it? I know that they are 3 files boot.img sytems.img and userdata.img...
If I download a 2.2 rom and replace this 3 files with the files which are on the 2.3 folder could I install the new firmware?

To install 2.3 you can follow the guide provided by our friend Kingbob:

It's safe to install, but in my opinion it's not worth yet.

All the 2.3 firmwares are buggy.

There is a good one, based on CM 7.1 on the way, I'm waiting for this one to give 2.3 a try.

It would be an entire rom and we could install it with brush? When it would be released?
