You're not on the latest firmware. JC1 is March 2010.

There's been approx 6 more experimental updates since then.

It's unlikey your phone is rooted, but yes, it can be rooted.

thx mate,
but what you mean by "It's unlikey your phone is rooted"

that means, is it alredy rooted ?
so no need to do anything ?
how is that? because I directly bought it from the network carrier.

I cannot say what firmware your carrier installed. But I seriously doubt they would install a "rooted firmware". I might be wrong.

If you're happy with your phone, then leave it be. Unless you know why you want a rooted phone, you don't need to.

As they say, "If it ain't broke, so don't fix it."

No auto updates as such. You can install Kies and check for firmware updates that way. Don't expect any results though. Nobody has posted a firmware update available for the UK yet. Only way so far is to ask your provider, or update yourself. Your provider may say you already got their latest update, and if you update yourself, cheerio warranty.

There are loads of guides on how to update your firmware. If you want JD4 send me a PM.
