The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra price tag starts at $1400 which has many bloggers in a tizzy. Take for instance Austin Evans who was inspired by the S20 Ultra to make a video titled, "Stop Buying Expensive Smart Phones":

But here's the thing... when asked if the Galaxy S20 Ultra was worthy of the name "Ultra" he definitively answered "yes". When asked, "is the Galaxy S20 Ultra worth it?"- the answer was "it depends". The bottom line is that if you want the best phone with the best camera and have $1,400 to spend than yes it's worth it.

Not sure why he would make a video insisting people STOP buying expensive smartphones and then provide advice that a $1,400 smartphone is worth buying... but alas... that's the world we live in.

hahaha, he is not my favorite. But Rob's point is well taken, there are quite a few bloggers and youtubers who are all just like, "it isn't worth it".

Stick controversial title on a video to garner clicks. It's the world we live in.

(Of course to me the phrase "best phone" is a red flag: "best" is subjective, and hence the phrase "best phone" is meaningless. I have no interest in a large phone, to the extent that if given an s20 Ultra for free I would give it away without ever inserting my SIM in it, so for me the question "is it worth it?" is extremely easy to answer ;)).

They're called "influencers" aren't they? Where basically popular, loud-mouth YouTubers and bloggers are given new phones by the manufacturers, like Samsung, to make these click-bait videos. With controversial and BS statements, and sometimes they'll even show the expensive new phone or whatever been destroyed, e.g. putting them in microwaves or blenders, or sticking knives in the screens.

    It's all marketing.

No no no @mikedt. It goes back way farther than 'Influencers'. I'm waiting for the @Rob review.

Well, while that does happen a lot, I trust certain tech reviews to be impartial. MKBDH for example does not beat around the bush, and phone makers listen when he points out flaws and bugs. We need those in depth reviews IMO. There are tons others, but yes, plenty more that get something free and sugar coat their reviews.
In this regard, yes, he is. Samsung didn't buy Rob's phone, nor mine. We will be reviewing them to the best of our ability and giving unbiased opinions. Hopefully the forum finds this useful.

Now that I have it, I would say NO. If you feel the need to upgrade from the S10+ or Note 10+, go for the S20+ but the 2019 line ups are not far behind so an upgrade from 2019 is completely unnecessary.

Probably fair. *Maybe* the Ultra, just cause of the insanity they packed into it. But most of the s10 lineup is still top of line and barely a below the s20 line.
