I'm trying to decide which tablet to buy so I went by BB today to see what they had available. I played around with the Xoom a bit but could not get the pinch movement to work like I've seen it on the Ipad. Am I missing something or does this not work on all android tablets?

Sorry if this is a simple question, but I'm trying to learn!

Are you referring to the ability to scroll the screen around WHILE your two fingers have pinched? I know my stock HTC phone does not have this capability. But I have seen it on a custom ROM (CyanogenMod 7) for my phone. So it's definitely possible on Android. Can't say if it's available on a stock xoom though.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the movement in which you either expand or diminish an open window by moving your fingers either away from one another or towards one another. I know you can move open windows with a flick of your finger but this is another issue. Sorry if I'm not being clear in my explanations

I am looking to buy a tablet primarily for travel use and especially to use Skype to keep in contact with our family while out of the country. Is the Xoom a good choice?

The xoom is a solid device. Some screens can not be zoomed is all i think you are seeing. Same as with an apple device...

Xoom just got cheaper if i'm not mistaken so i may very well be looking at one myself
