Help Is there a way to disable low battery noise without rooting?

When I've got my earbuds on the sound of the 15% low battery noise is jarring.

From the other forum, looks like rooting can accomplish this. Haven't rooted yet, would prefer to not have to (unless I'm missing out on something by not rooting).

I have looked around and haven't found any way to do it unless you root. Although rooting is definitely worth it. It's much more customizable and I love theme chooser which is included in cm7.
