I'm not talking about streaming from a service like Pandora or iMeem, but MP3 files on my home PC.
Haven't seen that one yet, but if you can dream it you can build it!
I just found this:
"We will release a new version of Orb that supports video streaming on Android sometime next week. At the same time, we will release an update of mycast.orb.com to play nice with the Android browser. After that release, you will be able to use Orb and stream everything (including live TV) from the browser."
That is a very interesting application ,if it can stream video that's awesome.
On another note, there is another thread on here posted by Daz that i replied to on how to use Tversity to stream your mp3's to your g1, which I did successfully.
I found it here: http://www.androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=1424&highlight=Tversity
Thanks much, I'll give it a try tonight!
np.. sorry for not giving you the link, i was trying to find it but im on my g1 and i get frustrated trying to click links lol.
Perfectly understandable, I'm on a PC so it was much easier for me.
There will be Orb in our Future! And by our, I mean Linux folks:
But there is always the wonderful Ampache [A] m p a c h e : Pour l'Amour de la Musique depuis le 5 Mai 2001
...in conjuntion with Amdroid in the market.
Jinzora Jinzora - Jinzora :: Free Your Media!
...with Jinzora in the market, although 2.0 is off the market, not sure why>?
Both are awesome because you can access it from a browser too.
And of course there is always VLC tied with the various VLC remotes on the market; my favorite being VLC Remote (Beta) by Peter Baldwin
I hope flash allows for some video playback options in some of these.
Anyone out there know of any solutions to stream video to Android from a home server? I haven't been able to figure that one out, yet.
I used Gmote. It works fine but the interface is clunky.
I'm trying out Subsonic right now. The interface is nicer but I can't get it to work outside of my home network. I had no problem with Gmote. Not sure why Subsonic isn't working. Headache.
I wish someone would just make a DLNA app so we can be done with it. I'd pay decent money for that.
ES File Explorer allows MP3 streaming using your wifi connection from your PC in LAN mode. I use it all the time and it works like a charm. It is free on the market (and is one great file manager).
This. If I could use my android device like I do my PS3 and stream Playon content and ps3mediaserver content that would be amazing.
I'd love something i can stick on my MyBook World edition so i can strream over 3G
Has there been any news on this? I am trying to find out if there is a good DLNA client (not server) app for Android.
