    If I am typing into a search field, or a text message or an address into a web browser and want to delete the entire field, is there a shortcut for that? Or is my only option to hold down the backspace button until it is all gone?

    Thanks.

    Is this the only way to clear field? There's no plugon or something that can add an extra functionality?
    Thanks

    figured out another way using Robotium.

    If you know what text will be in your text field.

    solo.clearEditText(solo.getEditText("The Text You Know Is In The Field", true);

    of course you have to have the Robotium library and a solo object instantiated in you junit test.
