I have some PDF that I want to edit but it looks like Adobe isn't free for editing.
Is there any recommended freeware that will serve the purpose? Thanks for advice.

I've used Adobe Acrobat and it does allow you to edit, there is a paid version but basic should serve your purpose. Some have also used PDF Candy app for editing, I'm sure others will chime in here as well/

Well, there are lots of option for editing your PDF some of which includes PDF Xchange Editor, Foxit Reader and SmallPDF.
Thanks

@louis2008 Have you looked at Okular yet, it has functionality to annotate text into a PDF. I've used it primarily on my Linux laptops, haven't done so on Windows yet, since I can still access the Acrobat Reader text functions without in-app purchasing. But I'll go all Okular when Adobe makes everything nickel-and-dime ...

I'm looking to purchase a license for a Mac application to view and edit PDF files. I don't want a subscription service, and I'm just looking for good editing all around, whether it's for an editable PDF file that's been created for user input or a "dumb" PDF file to annotate (like Preview.app can do, but hopefully with more power tools and better compatibility across other applications and Windows). Thanks for any suggestions!
