1. Are you ready for the Galaxy S20? Here is everything we know so far!

Is there any reason NOT to update the PRL?

I have QPST 2.7.374(known version to work) btw. When trying to install i get PHONEEFS.dll failed to register and the setup ends there.
Also what instructions can i follow to change the prls? will they stick? thanks :smokingsomb:

Did some searching here and at Howardforums' MetroPCS lounge, but still not sure if there's an answer to the question. I doubt that anything catastrophic to signal will occur, but can anyone tell me if it's (generally) better to update the PRL whenever such an update is available?

    Thanks for any info.

About 98% of the time when you upgrade a PRL you get better signal & speeds

Sounds like extremely good odds. Think I'll update in a bit.

    Thanks for the reply.

It seems that Metro has not come out with a new PRL in about 4 months. Which is odd because they used to come out with a new PRL every month or so.

One is supposed to come out (S3 exclusive) pretty soon

Whoa.... I didn't know that they could do that. Why would they release a PRL for a specific phone only?

    because they paid more?
i know that the s3 came with a different prl and supposely had better speeds
I believe 9033 is the new one coming out for the s3.
I just put it on my motion tho ;)

That is so elitist of them. As if Motion owners are the unwashed masses of MetroPCS.

Yeah, just saw your post in another thread. Very cool!

Hey, I don't have a problem with that and I'm just a lowly Motioner.

The S3ers laid out some serious fundage for their phones, the most as a group I've ever heard of. I have no problem with Metro going a bit out of their way to be sure those phones are working as good as they possibly can. If their "rank" has that "privilege" that's fine with me, they paid handsomely for it.

We did pay over triple the amount of the motion, come on you need some additional quirks for that

this is how I got QPST to recognize my phone. FOr the record i used v 2.7 build 374

    1) dial ##626*
    2) DO NOT put your msl instead put 587846
    3) Select NAM programming
    4) Stay There
    5) Start QPST
    6) Add the port [should be the only one you can add]

  19. I just changed mine to 9033 for the heck of it, no difference at home but that's not surprising. Will see how it goes in upcoming travels around the NYC area.

I've merged your post in here with this existing thread (you became the OP because your post was older (apologies to TJayDroid)).

I'm sure the good folks in here can help you out.
