I have done a search for this and I have not found answer. I have inadvertently created some of my contacts as phone contacts instead of google contacts. The main negative of this is that I can not sync these contacts. Does anyone know of way to change the contact type? My phone is rooted if that makes a difference.

In another thread relating to this someone mentioned an app that fixes this but I could not find it. Does anyone know of the app?

    Thanks!

Looks like you have to re add the contact as a google type. I think you can link it to another contact so you may be able to just add the name as a Google type then open the phone contact and link it to the Google one.
    Maybe

In the event I accidentally added a contact to Phone Contacts (it happens), From my PC (or any web browser) I visit my gmail page and go to Contacts. Then select All Contacts, select those contacts that aren't google contacts, then click the "Move to My Contacts" button.
