Is there any way to edit files in Root Folder from outside?

I overwritten some of stock fonts with my downloaded fonts from internet and forgot to set permissions of these fonts file to rw-r--r-- and now the phone keeps rebooting itself when I turn it on

Help me, I don't want to lose all app data just because of a stupid mistake like that, is there any way I can access Root Folder from outside? I need to set permissions of those fonts back so the system can use them and won't reboot itself

My phone is rooted, but it won't allow me to do anything on it at the moment because it reboot itself before I can do anything

    I'm using Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hi SurrealClick, and welcome to AF,

If you can't boot into android, here are a couple of possibilities:

    * If you are using a custom ROM, flash the ROM again without doing a factory reset (as it's the same ROM a wipe isn't needed). This will overwrite any changes you have made to the system files, including these fonts.

    * If you have a recent nandroid backup (from before the change), restore that. You will of course lose any data newer than the backup, so it depends how recent the backup is.

    * If you have a custom recovery you should be able to use adb with the phone in recovery mode. In which case, use "adb shell" to issue linux commands to change the file permissions ("chmod 644 filename" should give you rw-r--r--) - you may need to mount system first, perhaps use "sudo chmod ...", but it should be possible). You could also use "adb push" to push different font files there if the problem is more severe than the permissions.

Thank you for responding :) Can you be more detailed about the "adb shell" or a link to a guide? I don't have a custom recovery nor ROM. Is there any way to flash the stock rom?
    I don't have any backup, so I can't use 2nd method

I've flashed my rom, it worked fine again and I didn't lose any apps data. :)
