IIRC, you can get an 8gb class 6 card on Amazon for cheaper.

Yes, that's another good option for avacomputers, Kelmar...and it seems like a good price as well....but I bet if he has a gift card that he wants to use up, the extra $3 or so, is not a big deal. I have "spent" more at a store where I had a gift card to use up, even when the same item is available elsewhere for less $.

I would go for it. Before I moved to 16GB I used an old class 2 4GB microsdhc card. For storing music and a few photos, it did well. If you are looking for the same, a similar 8gb card would be a good purchase for the phone.

I don't notice any real difference with my class 6 for what I usually do.

The way I understand it, you only "need" a class 6 card if you use the apps2sd app for root users. Class 2 is plenty fast for music and photos. don't waste your money unless your gonna do apps2sd.

    ;)

(not that you would be wasting a gift card)

All depends on if you want storage or performance. Class 2s are garbage are not even worth 20$. Go with the Transcend one that was linked I just got that very same one, its amazing.

I would agree, but the hero can't write faster than a class 2 card. Class 6 is fine for a pc that can write fast, but the hero doesn't. I just got a class 2 because I just wanted cheap storage. It works fine.

The class spec doesn't mean that a class 2 only does 2MB/s, it simply means it is guaranteed to do at least 2MB/s write speed. Some class 2 cards will go 10MB/s or more.
