I have a docking station in my car, the previous owner obviously used it with a Nokia 8210 (it seems this dock is phone specific)

Now, since the wiring for the microphone and speakers are probably already set up to this - would it be possible to buy something for the Hero that i could replace the dock for the nokia and use the wiring and setup for the Hero with a hero dock?

I hope this question is clear

What car? And, perhaps even more important, what dock exactly is installed?

For example, if you own a recent volkswagen chances are you will be able to simply replace the dock for a bluetooth dongle (some $200 I think).

As previously stated it depends what dock and how it is fitted. Tell us that and we may be able to answer. Otherwise there are lots of different types of Bluetooth car kits available, from fully fitted to clip on the visor types.
