I've looked at some Twitter feeds occasionally but don't have an account.

I use it. I follow the news mostly, new stories pop up and I read or skip them. I follow people that are interested in what I'm interested in. I don't tweet often, most of my family is on so we do share/retweet funny/interesting stuff we come across.

    So it's not evil then.

Depends on how you use it. My feed is not evil (mostly  ). I really use it like I use Feedly but for different content. Besides, trending topics/#'s can be pretty damn funny.

I use Twitter for breaking news but be careful who you follow and be careful what you retweet.

Ex: Kobe Bryant's helicopter crash had some crazy retweets of really bad rumors that were never confirmed.

I'm on Twitter all the time, but mostly that^^^ A few people that tend to post links to things I may be interested in reading. No family though, they are all FB/IG/SC. :(
That's true of any social media, but yeah, the Kobe thing was a fiasco.

I've been on Twitter almost since its inception. I don't consider *it* evil, but certainly some people on it are.

For me, it's a quick way to share a thought, a link, news, etc., or see what's going on. When my best friend's son died, I turned to Twitter because information was very scarce. She had sketchy information that he had died [he was thousands of miles away in the Army], but had no details or even confirmation. I was able to get both from fellow soldiers stationed with him. That was hours before the official, dreaded by all military families, knock on the door... :(

At times I've been extremely active, other times, not so much. But I've never disliked Twitter or, like facebook, thought it was evil!

I'm happy to say that some of my childhood idols and/or important figures in my life follow me--including Sir Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono! :D

Finally, I have multiple accounts. The original is my daily-driver, but because its content often includes controversial topics, I split off into separate, unrelated accounts for non-inflammatory things, like ballet and photography. Some of those accounts' followers would be shocked if they found out that I'm behind my 'real' account! :)

To those who use twitter, I have been on it for a short while, only follow Voice Actors, my mistake, they are really under their gears against the president half of the time, and the other half they share happiness :) I do not consider twitter evil, I do consider the lack of comments, and hearts, likes, reactions, I do get across the social media empire.
That is why I mostly hang on in discord :)

    You've lost me, Milo!

Twitter has all of that: comments, hearts, likes, reactions. I get them all the time...so I'm confused.

If you're comparing how those things look versus on other sites, well, yeah, they're different--but they're definitely not absent.

I do too. I don't really want to have some of my family know what I'm up to
Once I mentioned Merle Haggard and his son liked it - my Twitter claim to fame.

I hear you! No one--and I mean no one--in real life knows about any but two of my accounts. And of those two accounts, only three people know about one [the original], and one person knows about both.

It's not that I'm ashamed or anything like that about what I write on Twitter. It's just that I really value the freedom I feel by not having everyone in on what I say, who I talk to, who likes or dislikes my comments, who tells me to f--- off [and vice versa], etc. Everyone in my life already knows my feelings about X, Y, and Z. It's not like I'm hiding deep, dark secrets from them. It just frees me up, that's all.
    That's exciting! :D

I had a similar thing once when Ben Feldman liked my tweet about Superstore. Totally made my day!

And then there was that time a participant from My 600-lb Life attacked me--totally unprovoked and out of nowhere--because I'm vegan. Go figure.

I'm still lost, dear. Can you explain a bit better?

Are you saying that you're not receiving likes, comments, etc., when you tweet something? Or you don't see those things being available on Twitter? Or what?

Also, how are you accessing Twitter--its app, its website, both, or something else?

I use it, not quite as much as I use to. At first it was all about likes etc and a bit of fun, eventually Twitter for me has turned into a support network for companys I am engaged with. Sometimes it is much quicker than any other support option.

So most of my follows are for companys.

I use it from time to time, when I have the time, but through the website itself.
Just lost all attention into it anyways. Blah on those type of "Stars"

So why is The President of the United States on it?
    Was it cool once?

IT is still cool to tweet anything that is on your mind anyways, relax, do not let the pres get you down anyways.

Sound advice. I think I fell under the spell of an influencer.

I'm talking about the right platform right? It's not like Twitter is something you can own on your phone. They can shutdown your service anytime they feel like it and you agreed to it.

I miss the pre "terms of agreement" days.

Yes, but in all these years it's never been an issue for me. Oh, it's not like I never say anything controversial--I do, believe me!, I do--but between my First Amendment rights and my self-checking, I've never had so much as a warning.

Twitter is a great forum for expressing yourself, and finding others who are similarly-minded. But, as with any company, it has to have rules. Personally, I don't find its rules hard to obey.
