Is using the nexus 7 as a gps practical?

I use Navfree, pre loaded offline maps, takes up about 1GB but works a charm and is free! Only problem is no live updates for traffic/if you want that but personally i have never found them to be accurate and I end up going miles out of the way for no reason.

There are loads of other paid apps used Sygic and was buggy but Copilot excellent.

I use Google navigation with cached offline maps. My whole country and we'll beyond the borders is only a couple 100MB.
I always check traffic info during he heavy hours and it's pretty damn accurate, up to which part of the freeway is slow and where it picks up again.
